At times, I sit and wonder what this life is truly all about. As I sit under the dark skies of the evening, observing the thousands of visible stars, I wonder just what we are. Knowing that what is visible is less than a small fraction of the infinite universe is so incredibly mysterious. We have such a limited understanding of all of this infinite space, and we gather a very limited understanding through the wisdom of our little minds. Over time, we have written, discussed, gathered and shared those limited thoughts.
My faith in the Creator of all that is seen and unseen is what keeps me in a place of peace. Humbled by His infinite majesty. Somewhere within that space, a black hole can suck everything within its proximity into its gravitational pull. On our planet, a small tornado can destroy structures that we have built, and consider to be sturdy, within seconds. The sun feels as though it could burn the skin right off of our bodies in midsummer as we lie on the beach, and it is over ninety million miles away. According to National Severe Storm Laboratory, a single lightning bolt can produce between 100 million to 1 billion volts of electricity.
I don’t know about you, but those things sort of place a bit of fear within me. The magnitude of power. The unfathomed question of just how these things are possible is so limited when we only listen to the thoughts produced by little men with little brains, on a very small planet.
I consider just how ignorant we truly are. We only compare ourselves and follow what we believe to be correct. I personally have no idea what lies beyond our limited knowledge, but the faith in the One Creator is where I find myself. Humbled by His immeasurable power. There have been too many instances within my limited understanding that has pointed me to Jesus as being the way to know the Lord, and those experiences are always accompanied by what I believe to be the presence of His Holy Spirit. In my little place here, within the infinite, I find peace within His ways. Until I reach the point of passing, I will adhere to His guidance. To me, Christ is the only way to know our Creator, and He even says that He is within the pages. I refuse to reject that claim, and the healthy fear of the Lord is within reason when I look at the great forces that He displays within the universe.
Little man, it is a great mistake to reject the way through Jesus Christ. He said, “No one comes to the Father except through me.” What a claim! Do you really want to reject that? Are you really brave enough to face the power of the Creator apart from the power of Christ within you? No other claim has been made like that of Jesus. You cannot create the universe. You cannot come up with all of the answers. But, you can serve the One who is the answer to all things. To reject that is a burden I would not want, considering His infinite power and wisdom.
