Why are some inhuman?
Why do some toy with the emotions by tearing away at the most vulnerable parts of others?
Why do the Christians use the wrath of Old to portray the New of Jesus, as if He is some sort of bipolar lunatic?
Why do they hate, with love?
Why do they fervently read His Word, while never understanding His Word? Do they not know that His Word is Jesus?
If sin died with Him, then why do Christians keep it alive with their own laws? Why do they quickly remove Him from the crucifix while screaming in His face, “You died in vain!!! I am God!!”
Why do these loving Christians make others feel inferior? Is it because they are truly their own gods?
Is it because they do not know that they are truly free in Him?
Why do some perform the old rituals, that have absolutely no value in His eyes?
Why do many others and I notice these things?
‘bipolar lunatic’ – I like that … I don’t know why, but I do. Maybe because it describes me perfectly, but not Jesus. 😀
I’ve got myself frustrated and angry at Christian hypocrisy over the years. I have to keep reminding myself to try not to look at others failings and take care of my own … which is more than enough!

I think it is safe to say that we are ALL a little off of our rocker 😁
Yes, I have plenty (plenty) of my own failings, as well. But, my questions are based on the leaders, writers, etc. who are mongers of fear and judgment IN THE NAME OF GOD, while abusing others. No one deserves to be abused, and it seems as though Christians are sometimes the worst. I have no tolerance for those who use hate while calling it love.
Blessings, Lesley! I truly hope I didn’t offend you with my lunatic comment.

No, you didn’t offend me at all … in fact, it made me laugh out loud! Thinking about it, it was because it’s a true depiction of God by some, e.g. the wrathful God of the O.T. and the loving God of the N.T. so bipolar lunatic seems apt, but it just made me giggle.
And I do agree – often when many become Christian, expectations of others seem to climb. It’s sort of like someone who used to smoke heavily turning their noses up at current smokers.
Honestly, Damon, you didn’t offend me at all and I love the poem. x

I think what you see Damon is always going to be there for such is the nature of man, and I understand the anger and resentment and it bothers me too. But our eyes are to be on Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith and those who bring honor to His name, and there are still many who do. We feed ourselves by what we look at. It’s not a matter of sticking our heads in the sand, it’s a matter of balance and what we focus our attention upon. If I know I have a weakness to eat too much, I make a decision to minimize how many times I place my face in front of an open refrigerator. It doesn’t always work but it is indeed a start. Blessings.

We are all guilty of sticking our faces in the wrong places! Haha! I’m beginning to see more of the places I should walk away from more often. Blessings, Bruce.

There is no condemnation for those who are IN Christ Jesus.
It’s all about control, the abuse, the manipulation and the hate.
It’s the reason the religious murdered Jesus, they did not want to lose their power.
There is no difference between the religious spirit in Jesus’ day and today. Only difference, now they do it in the name of Jesus instead of according to the commandments of Moses.
Same shit, different pile.
Be blessed and continue to walk in the freedom Jesus has given you.
