Exposed

What I’ve seen within the past few weeks

is the true colors of our race.

Some are flaunting what they have acquired,

while others give freely, with grace.

Many are panicked, pushy and unfair.

A few are courteous, and they genuinely care.

Troves are ungrateful, even though the money still comes…

They never notice the unemployed–their daughters and sons.

Chaos created by a world not prepared;

makes for a breeding ground, where people are unstable and scared.

Without knowing tomorrow, the present is caving from fear.

Just look at the world, and the words that you hear.

What I’ve seen within the past few weeks

is the true colors of our race.

Some are flaunting what they have acquired,

while others give freely, with grace.

  1. “Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.”
    In Matthew 6, though it’s not pertaining to our current situation, Jesus’ instruction is “Don’t be like them”
    We are to be different,
    we are to be the salt of the earth
    a beacon of hope
    a light to the world

    Jesus just before He instructs how we shouldn’t be, taught this

    But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
    For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same?

    As you well know, I could go on with quoting Jesus as to how a follower of Christ should act no matter what circumstance life throws at us.

    Blessings

  2. Yes.
    It is a shame that none of us are like Jesus all of the time.
    My poem is about the true essence and desire of the heart,varying within us all, no matter what religion or who we are as individuals. We all have the opportunity to look to God and be the salt and light. That’s mainly what my objective, here within the poem, is.
    Blessings to you as well.
